Ballet is the foundation of all styles of dance. It allows each dancer to improve essential skills such as balance, coordination, grace, discipline, and overall strength and endurance. This class will offer ballet terminology, barre technique, and across the floor combinations.
Tap technique steps and tap combinations will improve coordination and syncopation. Tap provides students the ability to take music they hear and turn it into rhythm on the floor, which is both challenging and rewarding.
Hip Hop class creates an exciting and energetic environment. Dancers will earn stylized choreography over the course of the year. Experience in more technical styles is not necessary for this class. Dancers will learn some different new moves and have fun!
Two styles of dance will be learned which include skills, terminology, and choreography. Students will work on improving flexibility, balance, and memorization of steps. Jazz, which is typically taught to faster music, allows students to learn sequenced technical steps. Lyrical applies similar concepts but with a focus on the song lyrics and meaning.
