Evolve Dance Company started as a dream of Artistic Director, Jenny Vause, and became a reality in June of 2005. Since opening, Evolve continues to provide quality instruction to dancers in Rockford and the surrounding areas. Evolve is located in the Edgebrook Shopping Center.
Jenny has been teaching and choreographing for twenty years, and our experienced, enthusiastic teachers provide dancers of all levels the terminology and technique needed to ”evolve” into the best dancer possible. We are very proud of our teachers whose accomplishments include numerous choreography awards at competitions, choreography for children’s theaters, professional back-up dancing, and work with local churches and school musicals.
Evolve offers a positive, welcoming environment where teachers and staff are compassionate and encouraging. Our family-friendly atmosphere provides a place for everyone to feel comfortable. Members of our friendly staff are always available to answer questions and offer assistance.
Evolve Dance Company features over 9,000 square feet of dance studio space. All five studios are equipped with resilient and energy-absorbing springboard floors with a vinyl covering. The studios are climate controlled and have large viewing windows for observers. The reception area is spacious and inviting. A break room, complete with tables, chairs, microwave, and refrigerator is available to dancers for homework and meals.
Evolve offers high quality instruction for all levels of commitment: recreational, technical, and competitive. Classes begin at age three and include preschool, combination, level, technique, adult, and boys’ classes. Private and semi-private lessons are ideal options for those dancers who are looking for more intense one-on-one instruction, have specific goals, and/or would like to perform alone or with one or two other dancers.
Evolve’s competition program is intended for dancers who are committed to attend several days a week of technique classes and practice for competition dances. The dancers perform many times throughout the year at regional competitions as well as local events.
