Evolve Dance Company performs at Disney World!

Competitive dancers from Evolve will be taking workshops and performing team dances as part of the Disney Performing Arts program in June of 2017. This will be the second time Evolve dancers were invited to partake in this exciting opportunity!

Read about the 2013 experience below.

Competition dancers from Evolve Dance Company traveled to Disney World in July of 2013 to take part in the Disney Performing Arts program. “It was so exciting to get that phone call that said we were selected to perform!” Jennifer Vause, artistic director, remembers. “I couldn’t wait to tell the dancers and parents about the summer plans.” Thirty-four dancers had the opportunity to take workshops from Disney cast members to better understand the performance and audition aspect of Walt Disney World. They also learned and performed original Broadway choreography from Disney’s Mary Poppins!

Additionally, the dancers were selected to showcase eleven dances, ranging in style from contemporary and tap to hip-hop and musical theater, at the Waterside Stage in Downtown Disney. Artistic Director Jennifer Vause noted “It was an incredible opportunity for the dancers! They learned a lot from the workshops and performances. It was a lot of hard work preparing for the fast-paced requirements of the shows. I couldn’t be more proud of their professionalism. They really drew a crowd, and their performances were spectacular!”
